Bardia National Park


The Park is the largest and most undisturbed wilderness area in the Terai. About 70% of the Park is covered with dominantly sal forest with a balanced mixture of grassland, savanna and riverine forest. Approximately 1500 inhabitants of this valley have been resettled elsewhere. Since farming has ceased in the Babai balley, natural vegetation is regenerating, making it an area of prime habitat for Wildlife. The Park provides excellent habitat for endangered animals like the rhinoceros, wild elephant, tiger swamp deer, black buck, gharial crocokile, marsh mugger crocodile and Gangetic dolphin. Endangered birds include the bengal florican, lesser florican andsarus crane. More than 30 different mammals, over 200 species of birds, and many snakes, lizards and fish have been recordeed in the Park’s forest, grassland and river habitats. A good number of resident and migratory birds are found in the Park. Area of Bardia National Park 968 sq. kms and Established: First gazetted in 1976 and further extended in 1984. National Park status was gazetted in 1988. Location of  is situated in the mid-far western terai, east of the karnali river.

Day 01:
On your arrival at Nepalgunj Airport or Amebas Stand our staff will receive you. You will then be transferred to our Lodge where you will be offered refreshment and be given a briefing on our lodge and its facilities. After being given your programs for the day your room will then be allocated to you.

15:00: Village tour to a nearby ethnic Tharu village where you will learn more about the life and life style of the Tharus.
20:00: Dinner
Day 02:
06:00: Wakeup call
06:00: Breakfast
07:00: Elephant ride (for an hour), an excellent opportunity to get the lifetime experience on the elephant back and to see the wildlife of the Park. Visit to visitor Center, Crocodile Breeding Center and Tharu Cultural Museum.
13:00: Lunch
15:00: Jungle Walk. An excellent opportunity to see the wild animals, small mammals, birds and waits in the tower (Machan) to have the wild sightseeing, accompanied by our experienced naturalists and wild life tracker. Excellent photographic opportunities are plentiful.
20:00: Dinner
Day 03:

06:00: Wakeup call
06:30: Breakfast
07:00: Bird Watching. An excellent opportunity to see a great many species of birds found in Bardia. Visit to Karnali River for Dolphin sightseeing.
12:00: Lunch
13:30 Departure for onward journey
